Vincent Bouatou picture, Milipol Paris 2017 Conference Speaker From 2001 to 2008, Vincent Bouatou has led several research programs dedicated to development & improvement of Safran proprietary biometric technology.
He managed the initial research program leading to the integration of the iris recognition technology in the Safran portfolio, and directly managed a world-leading class research team in charge of fingerprint recognition technology, earning Safran a number of awards in different rounds of NIST biometric technology testing.
He filed several patents pertaining to identification technologies and biometric technologies at large, taking a particular interest in privacy enhancing technologies.

Vincent Bouatou also worked as head of the Higher Education & Research relationship team within Microsoft France, before joining again Safran in 2009 as a deputy director for Research & Technology in charge of External Research.
Since Jan 1st, 2016, he is leading the Innovation & Business Support Group, a team of experts and architects in all of Safran core technology assets, in particular biometrics & security.

He graduated from Ecole Polytechnique in 1999 (X96) and Telecom Paristech in 2001.
